The Hotel name Mandarin Oriental goes hand in hand with exceptional spas and memorable luxury. We have experienced great Spa rituals in their city and resort properties, but Mandarin Oriental Sanya, China really is impressive.
The Spa area is a magnificent journey into an intimate tropical paradise. It is set apart in the heart of the shaded mountainside of the property as an interior garden with many fountains, ponds, bronze sculptures and walking paths to wander in.
As you ascend the pathways towards the private massage villas you see the backdrop of the beach and bay which defines tropical Sanya and yet you feel private and protected all at once.
The 18 villas have everything you need from massage beds for singles or couples, a steam room shower and two VIP villas. While we waited for our treatment to begin and unwinding after it there is an open air pavilion lounge that sits over a reflective and running pool where the soothing sounds of water allowed us to relax instantly.
The spa staff are extremely attentive and eager to assist. The language barrier was not too bad although not much English was spoken. The staff were intuitive and deferential to our needs. There are a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments available along with Thai, Swedish, Hilot (deep deep tissue!) and themed massages like relax and golfers and aromatherapy too.
Prices are very agreeable for the exclusivity and great name associated with the hotel and the renowned spa itself which has received much recognition in Sanya and beyond.
