The views evoke a combination of tropical bliss, with palm trees, golden sands and turquoise waters that have forested mountains in the background. Upon arriving to the hotel the immediate sensation we felt was grandeur. The lobby is massive and welcoming all at once with views of the entire property all the way to the sea.

We had an amazing feeling accompanying our welcome as a manager presented herself to us, recognized our status and immediately exchanged texting details so that she could be on top of all our needs for the stay. We actually had a craving for coconut water upon arrival and lo and behold they had some available in the lobby. They took note of how much we enjoyed it that we were constantly offered more all during our stay. It was a simple gesture but really struck us how they took note of something we liked and all of the staff were on board with the information immediately.

There is no lounge so they offered us a complimentary access to the high tea and free access to the minibar at all times which they would replenish anytime we called. They upgraded us to a very nice suite upon check in and received us all ready even when we arrived a bit before check in time. The only downside we would say of the hotel is that it seems a bit outdated on closer inspection. It is beautiful overall, but there is wear on some of the furniture and walls. We were told that renovations are scheduled to happen soon.

The suite itself was spacious and gorgeous however. It was full of plush furnishings and things that complemented the tropical sunlight flooding into the room. Large windows gave us unobstructed views of the abundant nature outside as we could see right into the verdant palm groves. The afternoon breezes and balconies made nature feel like it was just within arms reach.

We took lunch in one of the restaurants (which oddly enough seemed deserted the whole time we were there) and there was a significant delay and confusion with our order. Soon the head chef appeared and apologized that the order had been misunderstood and that we could order anything we liked on the house. There were two options for breakfast, the main kitchen which had various offerings for all guests with breakfast and on the beach there is a special restaurant open only to Bonvoy elite members. Service is excellent and the meals are cooked to order.

Additionally the spa experiences we had were fantastic, the outdoor pool is a marvel: encased in glass with serene views. Every morning we enjoyed the extensive gardens to walk too. Vela the manager was incredible with us messaging several times a day to see if everything was going well and if we needed anything else. The property was one where relaxation and service stood at the forefront of what we enjoyed.
