In a city with no shortage of luxury options, the St Regis has made a name for itself as one of the most exclusive hotels of Bangkok. It is an impressive building at an excellent location, directly connected to the metro, just steps from all the good happenings, the best restaurants and most prestigious shopping centers of the city.
We arrived to the Thai capital quite early in the morning, and as usual we had already informed the hotel about it. As soon as I entered to the lobby they greeted me by my first and last name and they proclaimed in a very courteous way: “Your room is ready, we were waiting for you and we are very pleased to offer you a nice upgrade to one of our beautiful suites”. It was indeed a gorgeous, well appointed, one bedroom suite with two bathrooms and separate living and dining room. During our stay almost everything went flawlessly. The butler was always ready to respond to any request and in a matter of minutes whatever we asked for was promptly delivered to the room.
The only miscommunication happened when we requested a small repair in a suit and the butler told us they were not able to do that, then manager came back and apologized explaining it was a newer person, but they of course they were able to do it.
The gym was excellent, equipped with state of the art machines (the treadmills looked a little small but everything else was perfect) the outdoor pool is located in a very intimate space with impressive views of the skyline and the nearby golf course and hippodrome.
The wellbeing facilities at the Spa were one of my favorite things of this hotel. A steam room, jacuzzi, plunge pool, separate changing lockers, hammam and experiential showers. Everything is available for guests to access it in a complimentary basis or for outside clients who book a treatment. It seems to me that prices of massages and other treatments were a little steep even when compared with other luxury hotels in the city.
Breakfast was sensational with many options to choose and delicious a la carte healthy dishes. Everyday was an authentic discovery and a foodie adventure. We were invited to drinks and canapes each evening at the bar, this is another beautifully appointed space of the hotel. Since they have not an executive lounge they offer this treat for vip members of the Bomvoy rewards program.
The last day we had a very early check out, and without even having to ask we were offered to receive a complimentary breakfast to go. At 5 am out breakfast arrived along with a cappuccino, it was more than we can even have asked for, with variety of fruits, sandwiches, yogurts and many more things packed in beautiful bags and boxes with St Regis logo.
I was highly satisfied with my stay at the St Regis in Bangkok. This is for sure one of the best properties in the city and with confidence I can even venture to say it is on of the best St Regis in their entire portfolio.
