The Sheraton Bratislava is an example of a modern hotel property can fit into a traditional European City with the size restrictions and complications of building all nicely accommodated. We found the hotel to be an easy walk from almost anywhere in the city proper. It is not in the downtown itself but just around a ten minute walk from the historic center.
The hotel is just along a revamped area of the riverfront with a Casino, Mall and underground parking complex all around it as well as wide pedestrian walkways. Once inside the hotel forget the city noise and ruckus, it is calm and relaxing.
With the recent merger between SPG and Marriott we were not sure how our status would carry over, but the property seamlessly gave us the benefits we were entitled to. The check in was swift and even though our flight came in quite early we were readily accommodated.
For a European room the area was quite spacious and we received a complimentary upgrade. The building has a very modern feel with wooden floors, glass and light colored stone. The small balcony gave us commanding views of the city’s boulevards and skyline.
The concierge was very helpful in our quest to rent our car and with several other questions. The breakfast was eclectic with continental, traditional Slovakian and international offerings. All things considered this is a good value for money hotel and its new environment and good location make it a winner in this approachable city.
