This was my first Business flight experience with Air France and I had great expectations from economy experiences and friend recommendations… Thankfully I was not disappointed!
Not only does Air France bring out the hospitality and charm their brand is known for, they sprinkle in decadence, efficiency and comfort for good measure.
I arrived at Dubai’s Terminal one and located the counter and found the Sky Priority check in area with only a few persons in front. The agent was both friendly and accommodating.
Once through security I proceeded to the SkyTeam Lounge which I’ve used before and I consider one of the better lounges in Terminal One. The spread is always delicious, the lounge quiet and the atmosphere cozy.
Boarding proceeded on time and I found my seating area quite comfortable, having a window seat in the 1-2-1 configuration. The blanket, slippers, amenity kit and water bottle were all laid out and there was loads of storage space in all the bins around my seat.
In spite of the business cabin being quite large there was ample staffing who immediately sprung into action. In a matter of five minutes within taking my seat someone collected my suit coat, handed me a fresh, hot towel and brought champagne. It was a flawlessly executed symphony of service.
I was then greeted by name from the attendant who would be overseeing my section during the flight. He was proper and astute, in fact not knowing that I had booked the seat with points he approached me to make sure my Skymiles number had been added to the ticket and confirmed my itinerary and onward flight from Paris.
The amenity kit was a nice blue suede bag with double pockets. It included a standard dental set, show horn, pen, lens wipe, socks and eye mask. The Clarins lip balm and facial cream were the delightful addition. There were ample storage spaces, high quality headphones, plug ins for major outlet and USB types.
The seat was fully reclinable and the tray table was adjustable for personal distance and height. The inflight entertainment was accessible from both a remote and touch screen. No sooner were we in the air (it was an evening flight) than menu’s were brought around. The selections were a delightful tour of the various French regions embodied in food and drink. A lighter dinner was served in favor of accommodating a restful sleep and favoring a more expansive breakfast upon arrival.
The flight was smooth, there were food and drink options available in the galley all during the night but honestly the bed was so restful there was little chance of me getting up to indulge. I did not receive an offer for the bed to be made as I’ve experienced in some other business services. Overall the service was friendly, fantastic and forthright.
The variety of Air France lounges found in the various terminals was encouraging and even when I was in a smaller satellite terminal, its clean look, throwback decor and being fully stocked with many of the quality foods I found in business class was a real delight. I’d have no hesitation taking Air France business again on any of their routes.
