Resort properties can be some of the biggest letdowns or the most beautiful experiences in the world of travel. For some properties being just near the marvels of nature is enough and they can be worn out, sloppy or living off an unending supply of tourists who will come no matter what.
Raffles Hainan is anything but that. It has one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in all of China, facing out over lovely Clearwater Bay. To complement the excellent location, it has as well a massively modern structure that is a tropical escape to high luxury and service.
Several things impressed us on our visit. The first was the intuitive nature of the staff. They are ready to refill your coffee cup at breakfast, ask you if you need anything for your time at the beach or the pool and to smile and ask about your comfort.
We were also impressed by the delicious breakfast served every morning. It was a garden of delights, with fresh fruits, abundant healthy options, food cooked freshly in front of us and even mascots to entertain families and children.
Even when the backdrop for the hotel is the tropical beachfront, you can have as much or as little of it as you like. The hotel property is massive and tucked away from the beach itself with carefully planned gardens and walls if you want to feel like you are in the jungle and should you choose to stroll out to the pool or the sea its just within a few minutes reach.
The rooms are typical of Raffles, richly appointed with tasteful wood, stone, tile and fabrics. Everything is spacious and abundance is the feeling the hotel transmitted to us. The feeling in the property is that you are the only guest on site because it is so quiet and the rooms spread so far apart.
There are beautiful spaces set aside for lounging in open air breezes, enjoying cocktails at lavish bars and delightful fare at world class restaurants.
This property has a solid footing in the excellence we have come to know and love at every Raffles property and the distinctive mark of being so new, polished and exclusive from the lobby to the seashore.
