It wasn’t where we had planned on eating that day, but as often happens when traveling you just go with the flow. We had just a little bit of time before an appointment and hoped to get lunch at the adjacent mall, but it was just a bit too tight to browse around restaurants and we wanted to see the Ritz anyway.
The Pasola restaurant is open to the public and we found a real gem here when we really just stopped to browse the menu. Of course it is a bit more pricey than a stressed restaurant, but it was an incredible value and a memorable experience thanks to the wonderful staff.
The staff of course tried to sell us on the buffet which is a a bit pricey but considering the location and the hotel it is worthwhile if you’re looking for a lavish lunch. We explained however its not something we particularly were looking for because most of the foods aren’t vegetarian and quantity isn’t something we crave either. Intuitively the server showed us various vegetarian meals they have a la cart and we were sold.
The burrata vegetarian sandwiches which they brought were tasty and extraordinary. The veggies, sauces and fresh cheese flavors were just jumping off the plate. The waiters paid excellent attention to every detail, even keeping an eye on the clock so we would get to our appointment in time. They brought in complimentary drinks and made sure to describe all the food in detail.
Pasola at the Ritz Carlton Jakarta offers a great buffet and weekend brunches, and it shouldn’t be overlooked as a place for an indulgent weekday lunch too. It was not crowded at all and the food was memorably tasty.
