Lounge Review: Lufthansa Business Lounge Frankfurt

Lufthansa Business lounges are renowned for their cleanliness and service. Our most recent trip through Frankfurt brought us to another of the well stocked facilities, this time to Lufthansa Business Lounge Ost. It is one out of 10 or so facilities that are operated across the airport.

The Lufthansa Lounge is open to all passengers for a fee or free to members with Star Alliance status that comes from air miles awards or specific credit cards.

Access to this lounge can be obtained from 5:30am-10:30pm each day. The lounge is located in Terminal 1, B Departures, after the security checkpoint. It is just near gates B44-48. One can either take stairs or an elevator after having access privileges checked at the entry way below.

The immediate impression of the lounge is a spacious and circular area. There are many places to stretch out, relax and unwind. The overall quiet atmosphere gives one a sense of place to work and rest, whatever you’re in the mood for. There is adequate lighting and one can enjoy watching planes take off and land.

Food service and Bars:

There are dedicated times when full service is provided, usually several hours around the standard breakfast lunch and dinner hours. We experienced a very hearty breakfast with lots of healthy options and an abundance of drink options. At other times snacks are readily available with a wide selection of chilled and alcoholic drinks. The staff circulate at regular intervals in order to clean unwanted plates and cutlery. Food may be taken into any of the various seating areas.

Places to work:

The lounge is open with a circular design that allows for sectioned off sitting areas at which one can work with electronic devices or find different positions in which to sit and eat. There are regular table style spots some with upright chairs and others with a booth style seating. Plugs are abundant and high chairs that look out the windows are great for paper and magazine reading.

Places to Relax:

The entire lounge has a calm and quiet atmosphere and noise seems to be non existent. The toilet areas are clean and spacious and for those looking to freshen up, a shower facility is in place for use. Simply approach a staff member and ask for towels and soap and if the shower is available. It can be an invaluable way to feel great in the midst of a long journey.
