Indian food is just delicious, widely varied and there’s always something new to discover! That is what we have learned in several trips to the tasty Subcontinent and now we’ve begun experiencing some of its finer dining expressions outside the country.
We recently experienced the Dubai restaurant of India’s first Michelin Starred Chef Vineet Bathia: Indego by Vineet. While it has a nice informal tone to it, the restaurant is very much fine dining that serves traditional ingredients and spices in a contemporary style.
The Restaurant is located in the stylish Grosover House Hotel in the Dubai Marina district. Inside the atmosphere is beautiful, it immediately brings an intimate mood with low lighting, a blend of modern and classical Indian design, furniture, tapestries and decor.
The dinner service we has was a very gourmet Indian experience and the food is laid out like a journey. The reception and execution of service tells you immediately that you’re at one of the best Indian restaurants in Dubai. We went with the fixed menu option and the dishes served are delightful and portions are normally sized (appropriate) and it is cooked to wow the guests for sure, keeping both traditional and exploratory Indian flavors. The price range is excellent for the type of restaurant it is. Staff were intuitive, our table was reserved and we were welcomed by the manager during the meal.
Besides the wonderful complexity of flavors we found the side dishes used as palate cleansers to be a wonderful complement the dinner and transition between courses. Overall Indego is a classy Dubai restaurant which offers a fine touch and an intelligent presentation of traditional favorites with contemporary twists.
