Cape Town and its surrounding environs are absolutely stunning from almost any place one chooses to stay in the city. The vast stretch of bays and coastline extend far beyond downtown hotels and apartments. We found this out when looking to stay in nearby Gordon’s Bay more convenience to drive further inland. It proved to be a remarkable spot with one of a kind views and a wonderful apartment stay.
We were able to make our way to the apartment easily with some online map printouts. There is a main road which follows the coast and side streets that wind up the side of the bay-overlooking slopes. We arrived at the apartment complex and found no one right away, yet within a minute a gentleman strolled up to us from another property across the street to verify our information and pass us the keys. It was all done very well. There is a garage for storing the car, a pedestrian entry way and even our checkout procedure was conveniently explained.
The apartment we chose was very similar to the others and had one and a half bathrooms, a bedroom, living room with open kitchen and dining room and a wide balcony to offer uninhibited views of Gordon’s Bay. The living quarters are relaxing and well furnished. The overall complex has a downstairs swimming pool and sitting area too. The garage has direct access to the kitchen which can make going in and out very easy with the garage door opener.
The bedroom is a queen sized bed with direct access to the bathroom. It also has a small TV and closet. The living room has a couch, chairs, TV, DVD player and Satellite TV. The dining area has a table and chairs for four and there are small tables on the splendid balcony as well. A guest book in the living area reveals many happy guests have spent days or several weeks here.
The kitchen was our second favorite part after the balcony view. A spacious countertop, all the cooking and eating utensils one could want as well as a large fridge made cooking each meal a pleasure.
