In the International Finance Center in Seoul its possible to find an excellent shopping mall and the stylish Conrad hotel. Not only are there good clothing stores but instead of a food court there are boutique restaurants and even a gourmet market which we found as an excellent place for lunch with handmade meals on the spot.
The olive market concept is one we’ve been fascinated with traveling in different parts of the world. Like the famed chain of Eataly but on a much smaller scale we walked around the selections of meats, cheeses, wines, fruits, side dishes and specialty items. You can pretty much buy and be served anything sealed or fresh as there are tables scattered throughout the store and glasses and paperware with which to eat.
There are some stations in the store serving up pizza a la carte, hot sandwiches, salads and a sushi buffet. The selection of foods reflects a nice conglomeration of Eastern and Western favorites that makes the menu really eclectic. We for instance enjoyed amazing slices of fresh pizza topped with generous, arugula, cheese and tomatoes.
The store had an excellent selection of wines at store prices and there was no extra fee for enjoying a great bottle of wine with our tasty pizza. The staff uncorked the bottle for us and brought excellent wine glasses from which we began our refined market meal all for grocery store prices.
