Transport from Karon Beach to Phuket International Airport

Transport from Karon Beach to Phuket International Airport

S & P Travel in Karon Beach can arrange for affordable transfers

Transport in and around Phuket is varied and can be confusing when one is exploring options.  Prices from the to Karon Beach can range from 600 Baht in a shared taxi van upwards of 800-2,000 Baht in a private taxi and hotel pickups can range up tp 1700 Baht.

Around the airport there are so many competing agencies, prices can be more affordable. For those on a series budget or just looking to plug into the local public transit, there are no direct public buses from the Airport to Karon Beach and Kata. However one can take the low cost public bus from the airport to the Surakul Stadium stop and from there cross to the opposite side of the street and take any of the local minibuses headed to Karon Beach or Kata or Patong.

Return trip: Karon to the Airport

For the return trip from Karon Beach to the airport one has to search around more for options. Tuk Tuks and taxis at the time of writing can range 1,300 Baht for a one way journey and can be a bit crowded with luggage.  The best option is to head to the S & P Karon Travel store which is right in the heart of Karon at 677 Patak Road. Phone: 081-797 8982 They can arrange a private car pick up for 2-3 persons for 800 Baht that arrives right to your hotel and brings you to the airport promptly.  This is an excellent and trustworthy service that is much more affordable than any hotel and public taxi options I found in Karon Beach.

      Hi Jeff,

We do not have any contact info for them, and an internet search turns up nothing. Many of these businesses are handled walk up style or by phone. A suggestion may be to call the Hilton in Karon Beach or a tourism office there to ask for the number of S&P travel.

      regards,

DO NOT TRUST THIS TRAVEL AGENT (or risk as your own choice) because they have no clue of respecting the punctuality as promised, which you don’t want to miss you flight for trusting them to pick you up from the hotel to the airport. Also, the lady receptionist who answered our call was VERY impolite and unprofessional, creating a very discomfort situation to the customer, ending we have to change to other pick up company made from our hotel which is much more reliable and polite manner. Thanks to the ‘so-called’ hospitality of this agent has really made our holiday almost ended with a HUGE miserable disappointment.

    1. Thanks very much for your comment.
When we were there our experience with this particular service was very good. They were on time in the hotel to pick up us, we arrived punctually to the airport and they were polite and friendly.
We have to admit it is not the first time we are hearing a complaint about their services.
We really appreciate the feedback of travelers.

I can totally recommend Rainy’s Tourist and Taxi services. We’ve been in Phuket Thailand many times and only used Rainy’s travel services, she speaks very good english and is friendly woman. Also this year we will definitely be using her services, which are very much cheaper than tourist offices provide. It’s so good to find someone you can trust.

    Laura

    1. Hi Laura,

There is not a lot of information online about the local buses that run between Surakul stadium and Karon Beach but there is no detail about specific times. Tourists post that the bus cost is 35 baht and the buses come at regular intervals. Took Tuks and taxis would be considerably more.
