Just when one might wonder how or where downtown Kuala Lumpur can find room for another skyscraper it’s done it again! This time with a fantastic Element hotel. With a fantastic interior decor and view of the Petronas Towers it ticks all the boxes of a downtown experience.
We’ve been to Malaysia’s capital more times than we can count at this point and there’s always something new in the city’s affordable luxury hotel scene. The Element hotel got our attention because of its unique eco-luxury vibe and its position on the 40th floor and up on one of the city’s tallest skyscrapers.
The hotel has a theme throughout noticeable from the ground floor concierge to the 53rd floor, floor to ceiling natural light. With so much urban beauty to behold its a fantastic choice. While sometimes obscured by haze, the views of the surrounding environment were quiet and contemplative. Our Titanium Elite status was duly noted and upgrades were bountiful.
Upon arriving we found to be both spacious and uninhibited. Looking out the window is a masterpiece of engineering, but inside too decor and paintings play out on the walls in delightful arrangements. Our Skyline suite provided an enclave that felt comfortable and minimal all at once. The staff in every venue from housekeeping to front desk and daily breakfast were universally attentive to details.
A great perk of the hotel is its situation in the heart of KL. Descend the rapid elevator and immediately one is just one LRT stop to KLCC, and walking there is a breeze. The hotel is all over environmentally conscious practices so we found the certified water filters to be very useful in each room and the organic toiletries were a complement to the water efficient rainforest showers.
The breakfast served in the restaurant on the 40th floor was superb with a great selection of cuisines. There is also a small supermarket close by to the entrance of the hotel where you can buy snacks or food and a small kitchenette in the rooms where one can prepare something light. We found the in hotel wifi to be lightening fast too!
The Pool and Gym are on the 37th floor and they’re probably the hotel’s greatest attribute. The saline pool has a mirror design that reflects the pool on the ceiling for a very special effect. The view from the pool out over the cityscape is quite extraordinary too. The fitness center called Motion is equipped with all of the state of the art machines and aerobics materials one could want, all with a spectacular view too (notice a theme?)
Overall the hotel is a fresh and elegant space, it is eco friendly but not lacking and green but also luxurious. The hotel is a great value for its offerings, location and name and it definitely is one of the fantastic new spots in a competitive tourism market spot that leaves a great impression.
