Our Take on Vineyards and wineries to visit in California

There are hundreds of vineyards to visit in this huge state, we are not saying we have seen it all or even most of them, but we have seen a lot. We have been for on several occasions from North to South in and we have visited a lot of beautiful places, so far these are the one we have fallen in love with.

We love the views that go all the way to the sea, the surrounding vineyards and the outdoor firepits with reclining chairs inviting everyone to relax. The tasting room is super modern and it still blends very nice with the surroundings. They offer great tastings and good food options.

Los Olivos town:

For those who want to do their tastings in one place this charming town is the perfect place, the houses are beautiful, the restaurants excellent and the many beautiful tasting rooms are the perfect place to spend time without any rush.

Andrey Murray Vineyards:

Located along a canyon where several dozen other wineries produce wonderful pinots. What we like a lot is the ambiance. There are wonderful picnic tables under huge trees with hanging lamps. The tasting room is as well very modern and extremely chic with different spaces and areas to hang out, perfect to take a breath after a long day of exploration.

Paso Robles:

Justin Vineyards is truly an institution, it is said that there is a before and after their famous wines were released. We were not sure what to expect maybe with all that fame the service would not be that intimate. We were totally wrong. The place is exceptional, surrounded by manicured gardens and lavender plants, wonderful picnic tables hidden in all that lush is an invitation to bring your own food and to wish the time never will pass by. The staff is extremely friendly, the tasting room gorgeous and their wines live up to the expectations.

Villa Juliette: Once one has seen so many beautiful places it is hard to imagine there are even something nicer, but there is where Villa Juliette shows up. It is all the glamour of Paris, with the beauty of Southern and the charm of California: all in one place. They offer premium wines that are some of the best in the area. Their tasting room is amazing; this is another perfect place to enjoy a picnic lunch.

Santa Ynez Valley:

Edna Vineyards: The tasting room has some of the most beautiful views we have seen while enjoying a great tasting. They offer a great variety of local products from Honey to Olive garden and many other wonderful souvenirs.

The French place: If one want to be transported to Southern France this is the place to go. It has all the resemblance of a Provencal wine state. The people working there is one of the friendliest we have met in our journeys in California. Once you sit under the beautiful trees and open your food basket you will not want to leave.

The first place in Sonoma

Enchanting Sonoma offer many possible places to visit we were fascinated by Landmark, what a winery! Such a beautiful house in an breathtaking location. Fountains, gardens, green pastures, lakes and a lot of wine in a place that seem taken out from a movie.

Santa Cruz Mountains:

Byington vineyards: this is a totally unpretentious winery, located in one of the most gorgeous areas of California. The views are to die for. The narrow roads taking to the vineyard offer amazing panoramas that go all the way to the sea. Roses and ancient olive trees adorn the gardens and invite one to sip the wine slow.
