The hotel market in Beijing is as huge and diversified as the city itself. It is a city that offers prime luxury experiences and for being a major world city prices aren’t bad, so it is a good place to explore the top names and enjoy their high ranked standards and the JW Marriott Beijing certainly fits this description.
The first thing the hotel provides is that it is an excellently located property. In a city where it can take so long to get around, it is just 20 minutes by public and private transport to places like the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square. The hotel sits in the heart of Beijing’s Chaoyang district just a few minutes walking from the city’s most impressive shopping centers like Shin Kong Luxury Mall, China World Mall and the iconic CCTV headquarters.
The overall feel of the hotel is grand, exclusive and active. There are lots of business guests and it has a strong presence as a social space. The design is modern blended with elements of an urban escape that is most welcome in Beijing. English is spoken well and everyone from cleaning staff to lounge assistants were eager to please.
We found the room to be an excellent upgrade based on our rewards status. The overall vibe is classy and comfy at the same time. The junior suite was full of green, gold and yellow hues that shone nicely with the large bay windows overlooking the premium shopping centers and gardens below. The rooms were technologically savvy, the bathrooms inlaid with white marbles, excellent décor and the furniture was a sheer invitation to relax. Supplies like water, fruits teas and Nespresso were constantly restocked.
The hotel lounge is certainly one of its strongest talents. It is certainly a worthwhile addition if one is thinking of securing lounge access or has it already. The staff are constantly a buzz of activity attending to various needs, clearing plates, setting out the abundant drinks, snacks and delicacies that are served throughout the day. Some of the staff pride themselves on remembering exactly what you like and making sure you have plenty of it as soon as you arrive. In addition to the highly personalized service, the lounge offers unbeatable views of the Beijing cityscape and occupies over 600 sq. meters giving lots of space to enjoy. Breakfast, Teatime and Hors d’oeurves all come with amazing variety and abundance each day.
For fitness and relaxation the hotel offers a high quality fitness center adjacent to a meditative and calm poolside. Locker rooms come complete with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room set in lavish surroundings. The i spa facility offers a full range of Thai inspired treatments and remedies. The hotel’s lobby is an enjoyable place to relax, the Beijing Bread company is an on site store offering all kinds of delicacies and places like Cru steakhouse & Asia Bistro. Overall JW Marriott Beijing is a delightful and impressive spot to experience quality hotel service well located in the heart of Beijing.
